The Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Visa replaced the Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfer) Visa on 1 December 2020. The Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Visa is designed to enable workers who are based overseas to transfer temporarily to the organisation’s UK branch or connected entity.
In a similar way to the Skilled Worker Visa, applicants for an Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Visa must meet certain eligibility requirements in order to qualify. As part of this, the application must, among other things:
- Have been issued with a Certificate of Sponsorship;
- Meet the skill level requirement;
- Ensure that they meet the general salary requirement (£41,500) and going rate; and
- Meet the financial requirement.
Individuals on Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Visas are subject to a maximum stay in the UK of:
- 5 years in any 6 year period if they are paid less than £73,900 a year; and
- 9 years in any 10 year period if they are paid £73,900 a year or more.
Unlike a Skilled Worker Visa, an Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Visas does not provide a route to settlement in the UK. It is possible, however, for individuals who are on Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Visas to switch into the Skilled Worker route from within the UK.

UKVI Fee: The fees that are payable will depend on whether you are applying from within or outside of the UK and also on whether the length of stay will be for more than or less than 3 years. An Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Visa for a period of up to 3 years carries an application fee of £610 for outside of the UK and £704 if being made from inside the UK. An Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) Visa lasting for more than 3 years is £1,220 for outside of the UK and £1,408 for inside of the UK. The Immigration Health Surcharge will be payable on top of this at a rate of £624 per year (plus conversion fees and those for using biometric submission centres and any additional services that an applicant opts for).
Curzon Green (London based client) Fee: £1800-£2500 plus VAT; or
Curzon Green (Buckinghamshire based client) Fee: £1200-£1800 plus VAT.
