Successful outcome in trip-and-slip claim

Our personal injury team recently secured a substantial settlement for an elderly client who was injured when she tripped on a loose paving stone in the communal area of a community housing complex. Our client suffered a fractured femur, among other injuries. The paving stone was one of a number of loose stones in a communal bin area which was not properly maintained. This was a long-running case in which the defendant denied liability throughout. Our team, acting on the basis of a conditional fee agreement, steadfastly progressed the claim and were eventually able to obtain a favourable settlement just a few weeks before the trial was due to take place.
