Supreme Court Judgment on Divorce Settlements

Two women, Alison Sharland and Varsha Gohil, who were misled by their ex-husbands in their divorce financial settlements have won their Supreme Court fight today.  Both cases are to return to the High Court to be re-heard.

This is a very significant ruling meaning that divorce settlements have to be based on a valid agreement. If one of the parties is dishonest in the settlement agreement and misleads the other party in the extent of their assets, then this ruling confirms that the dishonest party can be taken back to court to have the whole agreement considered again.
