Our Dispute Resolution Team’s Lee Silk and Hanna Bajwa were recently successful in securing a confidential settlement agreement for our client relating to a loan they gave in 2002 which was not repaid on the expiry of the loan agreement.
The dispute involved complex legal arguments that the limitation period had been extended because the debt had been acknowledged by the paying party on many recent occasions.
Through the Team’s assistance, pre-action correspondence was exchanged with the paying party’s solicitors and negotiations ensued which resulted in a settlement on favourable terms for our client.
