A sports club or sports body that wishes to employ a person (who does not already have the right to work in the UK as a sportsperson), must obtain a Sponsor Licence in the UK. They will need to obtain an endorsement from the governing body for their sport, which is recognised by the Home Office. This endorsement will confirm that they are a genuine club or similar organisation and have a legitimate requirement to bring migrants to the UK as sportspersons. It is important for sports clubs and sporting bodies to consider their need to sponsor players and coaches, well in advance, as it can take some months for their sponsor licence to be processed by the Home Office.
Our services for sports clubs and bodies will always start with a consultation. This allows us to take detailed instructions and to understand how we might best support our client(s). After this session we will be able to provide a detailed client care letter outlining the terms of our engagement and any expected costs. Charges will be at our standard hourly rate and may vary according to the experience of the designated representative at our firm. A designated representative within our firm, who will be on hand as far as possible, to progress works and answer any visa or licence queries that may arise.
