Spouse will receive all of estate.	NO	←	Was the estate worth more than £270,000?		Does the deceased have any surviving children?	→	YES	Estate shared equally between them.

The spouse keeps all the assets (including property) up to £270,000 and all the personal possessions, whatever the value. Remainder of the estate will be shared as follows: – The spouse gets absolute interest in half of the remainder – The other half is then divided equally between the sharing children	YES	←	Does the deceased have any living children, grandchildren or other direct descendants (e.g. great grandchildren)	Does the deceased have any surviving grandchildren or great grandchildren?	→	YES	Estate shared equally between them.
			NO ↓	NO ↓
			The spouse will receive all of the estate	Does the deceased have any surviving parents?	→	YES	Estate shared equally between them.
				NO ↓
				Does the deceased have any surviving siblings?	→	YES	Estate shared equally between them. If there are no full siblings then estate is shared equally between half siblings

				Does the deceased have any surviving grandparents?	→	YES	Estate shared equally between them.

				Does the deceased have any surviving aunts or uncles?	→	YES	Estate shared equally between them.

				Does the deceased have any surviving cousins?	→	YES	Estate shared equally between them.

				Crown will receive the estate.
