You may be able to apply for leave to remain or indefinite leave to remain (settlement) in the UK on the basis of long residence. If you have been in the UK following 10 years of continuous lawful residence, you may be eligible for indefinite leave to remain. If there have been breaks in your continuous lawful residence, or you have never had any form of leave to remain in the UK, you may be eligible for limited leave to remain after 20 years continuous residence in the UK.
