Before 2012, there was a rule that allowed a person to qualify for indefinite leave to remain if they had been continuously resident in the UK for a period of 14 years. This included where parts of their residency had been unlawful.
This rule was abolished and was replaced with the 20-year rule, which allows those who have been continuously resident in the UK for a period of 20 years to apply for leave to remain. There is no requirement for any of this to be lawful residence, however, any time spent in prison will not count towards the 20 years.
You will need to provide evidence to demonstrate that you have been residing in the UK for 20 years. The Home Office may still refuse your application on suitability grounds (for example, if granting you leave would be against the public good because of criminal offending).
If your application is successful, you will be granted leave to remain for a period of up to 30 months. You will need to keep renewing this until you have accumulated a period of 120 months lawful and continuous residency, then you can apply for indefinite leave to remain. Leave to Remain – Full Representation

We would ensure that you are updated on any key developments on your matter and remain as your legal representatives until a decision is reached on your visa for the UK.
We would endeavour to be on hand throughout the visa application process to guide you and answer any questions you might have about the process. Once the visa matter has been concluded, we would send you a closing letter outlining any items that we think you may wish to know moving forwards.

The reason that we provide a cost range is because cases can vary considerably according to their complexity.
UKVI (Usual) Fee: £1033 plus £624 per year for NHS Health Surcharge (where an applicant does not qualify for a fee waiver). There is usually a £19.20 charge for submission of biometric information; &

Curzon Green (Buckinghamshire based client) Fee: £1200-£1800 plus VAT.
