Victoria works as a Solicitor within the firm’s Personal Injury and Employment Team in our London offices. Victoria joined Curzon Green in 2017 and qualified in June 2021 having completed her training contract at the firm.
With a particular interest in clinical negligence and personal injury, Victoria regularly advises and assists claimants in pursuing personal injury claims against a range of defendants including hospitals, dentists, councils, hotels, and private landlords, to obtain fair compensation for injuries they have suffered. Her caseload frequently includes employer/public liability claims, road traffic accident claims, bed bug claims, and claims against package holiday providers. Victoria also advises on personal injury trusts alongside this. During her training contract, Victoria also has experience in bringing and defending commercial claims, and enforcing judgments through various means. She occasionally undertakes advocacy in the County Courts.
Recent work that Victoria has been involved in includes successfully resolving a clinical negligence claim against a major healthcare provider for a claimant who developed serious category 3 pressure sores on their heels whilst in the hospital’s care, which significantly reduced their mobility and quality of life. Expert medical was obtained in respect of three separate disciplines and the case involved complex arguments relating to causation. The case settled on a Part 36 basis and the claimant obtained a substantial five-figure settlement plus legal costs.
Victoria has assisted numerous claimants successfully obtain compensation from hotels, including one of the UK’s biggest hotel brands, for injuries sustained as a result of bed bug bites during their holidays. She also has experience in litigating public liability claims and recently assisted a pedestrian obtain a favourable five-figure settlement plus costs from their local council, after they tripped on a pothole on a public walkway and fractured their ankle.
Within the Employment Team, Victoria assists litigating claims in the Employment Tribunal, including for unfair dismissal and discrimination. She also undertakes non-contentious matters, and can advise on settlement agreements. Notable recent work includes successfully assisting an employee overturn an unfair dismissal for gross misconduct, following submitting timely and legally sound appeal grounds which highlighted inconsistencies in how other employees were treated and the severity of the sanction in the circumstances.
Victoria is a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
Before joining the firm, Victoria studied Law at the University of Birmingham graduating with a 2:1 classification then proceeded to obtain a Distinction in her Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School across all modules. During her studies, Victoria worked as a Brand Ambassador for Thomson Reuters and after graduating, she trekked parts of the Great Wall of China for two weeks to help fundraise for the NSPCC.
