Lauren McLaughlin

Lauren practises both contentious and non-contentious employment law, and is a Partner.

In particular Lauren has extensive experience of the day-to-day running and strategic aspects of Employment Tribunal litigation. She has been involved in complex, multi-faceted claims of discriminationvictimisation, harassment, whistleblowing and constructive dismissal. Lauren has acted in matters relating to the NHS, banking and media sectors, among others. Of note is the recent Court of Appeal case Dr C Day v Health Education England, a widely reported case in which Lauren assisted in the lower Tribunals and through the appellate jurisdictions: 

Lauren assisted in all aspects of the sex discrimination and victimisation case Bouabdillah v Commerzbank AG acting for the successful Claimant. Other, confidential matters have included negotiating the successful settlement of a whistleblowing claim against a major financial institution and a race discrimination claim against a national supermarket chain via mediation. Lauren has recently negotiated a six figure settlement for a managing director claiming unfair dismissal against a national company.

Advising employers and employees, Lauren also has experience in internal HR matters ranging from employee exits, redundancies and drafting employment contracts, consultancy agreements, settlement agreements and limited liability partnership agreements.

Lauren graduated from the University of Liverpool with an LLB Honours degree in Law. She completed her LPC at the University of Law, Chester obtaining a Distinction.

Prior to joining Curzon Green, Lauren trained at a boutique employment law firm in the City of London before qualifying as a solicitor in September 2014. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA).
