Jessie Mark

Jessie qualified as a solicitor in our dispute resolution and employment teams in April 2020. Jessie graduated from the University of York with first class honours in law and completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of London, achieving a distinction. In the dispute resolution team, Jessie currently assists with a variety of matters including privacy law, disputes between co-owners, commercial/contract disputes, landlord and tenant issues, debt recovery, Inheritance Act claims, personal injury and clinical negligence claims. Notable claims that she has been involved with include securing a six figure settlement for clients in a Fatal Accidents claim, and successfully assisting a minority shareholder in securing a settlement following the issuing of an unfair prejudice petition.

Jessie’s knowledge of privacy law is such that she has been quoted by Stylist magazine in an article about the legislative reforms needed to support victims of revenge porn. She has had numerous successes in navigating highly sensitive circumstances in order to protect her clients’ privacy and reputation.

As a result of her expertise in disputes between co-owners, Jessie currently advises on nuptial agreements and separation agreements, as well as claims under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989. Jessie also assists with drafting legal charge documentation between family members and friends, as a proactive measure to help parties avoid disputes in future.

Jessie also has experience of contentious and non-contentious matters in the employment team. In particular she has been involved in negotiating settlements, advising on potential discrimination and unfair dismissal claims and assisting both employees and employers in navigating redundancy situations. Jessie has also been involved in complex, technical disputes over Permanent Health Insurance claims, contraventions of the TUPE regulations and whistleblowing claims.

Jessie also frequently assists with non-contentious drafting across both dispute resolution and employment, including shareholders agreements, agency agreements and terms and conditions for commercial/consumer contracts.
