Jeff Thomas

Jeff Thomas works exclusively in the family law department as a Senior Associate having been a family lawyer for more than thirty years. He is a member of Resolution which is an organisation of lawyers which promotes good practice and the constructive resolution of family disputes, and also an Accredited Family Lawyer through the Law Society.

The Legal 500 recommends Jeff as a family law solicitor stating that he can “diffuse a situation before it gets out of control,” “is always on top of the details, and gives very sensible advice, drawing on his wealth of experience” and “often secures a good outcome in the most difficult of cases.”

Jeff has extensive experience in dealing with the financial aspects of separation and divorce, particularly for mid to high-net-worth clients.

If Jeff were marooned on a desert island, his chosen books (he couldn’t make do with just the one) would be The Code of the Woosters by P G Wodehouse, which he thinks is simply the funniest and most delightful book ever written, and David Copperfield by Charles Dickens, which he considers is probably the greatest novel of all time.

Jeff is married to a wonderful wife and has four beautiful children (three sons and a daughter; she is the youngest), an uncontrollable dog and a habit of slinking away very quietly with a book to a remote spot in the house when they start becoming too loud.

In his spare time Jeff reads crime novels and thrillers and collects signed first edition hardback books. He enjoys watching rugby, going to the theatre and live comedy nights. Jeff spends the rest of his time waiting patiently for Wales to win the Rugby World Cup.

Jeff acted for the successful husband in Sandler v Sandler & Lloyd Platt & Co (2010) EWHC 1415.
