Jessica's current caseload is a mixture of employment law and dispute resolution. Jessica is involved in a wide variety of cases both in supporting roles and as the main file handler. Jessica acts for both employee and employer in tribunal claims, and also undertakes several non-contentious matters within the employment team, including the drafting of settlement agreements and HR policies and documents.
Notable claims that Jessica has been involved in include the successful compromise of a disability discrimination claim against a local company, the recent compromise of a sex discrimination and unfair dismissal claim against a national supermarket chain, and the early settlement of a sex and sexual discrimination claim within a family business. Jessica recently assisted in the successful negotiation of a settlement for £80,000 for a client in a claim for constructive dismissal and disability discrimination against a multinational corporation, acting on a no win no fee basis.
During her time with the dispute resolution team, Jessica has acted for several landlords with regard to landlord and tenant disputes. Further, she has experience acting for clients with regards to debt recovery and enforcement. Jessica's caseload also includes several Inheritance Act claims, with experience in acting for both Claimants and Defendants.
Jessica also acts for a number of clients in personal injury claims, including those arising as a result of road traffic accidents, bed bug injuries and dog bite injuries. Jessica's previous seats mean that she has gained experience in both residential and commercial property, and also wills.
Jessica trained with the firm having obtained a 2:1 law degree from the University of Leicester and a Distinction on her Legal Practice Course.
