Inheritance (Provision For Family and Dependants) Act 1975 Claim Settled

Our contentious probate team recently secured a very substantial settlement for their client in a claim for reasonable provision from the estate of their late spouse.

The provision left for our client in the deceased’s will fell far short of what the client could have expected to receive in a hypothetical divorce scenario. In those circumstances, our solicitors were able to assist with asserting a claim under the Act and handling settlement negotiations. The case involved a substantial estate comprising assets of over £2.5 million.

The claim was settled prior to the issue of court proceedings, with all of our client’s legal costs paid from the estate.

The matter was primarily handled by Steven Organ.
